Offida DOCG
Offida DOCG vineyards & wineries for sale in Marche
The Offida DOCG is a wine produced in the Marche region, which has been awarded the prestigious Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) status. This recognition guarantees that the wine is produced according to strict quality standards and a specific specification. Offida DOCG is known for producing both white and red wines of excellent quality, made from native grape varieties such as Pecorino, Passerina and Montepulciano.
The production area of Offida DOCG extends into the province of Ascoli Piceno and, in part, into the province of Fermo. The area is characterized by rolling hills, with predominantly clay soils and a mild climate, influenced by the proximity of the Adriatic Sea. This unique environment gives Offida wines intense aromas and a distinct minerality, making them appreciated both in Italy and abroad.
Offida’s wine-making tradition has ancient roots, but official recognition as a DOC dates back to 2001. Later, in 2011, DOCG was conferred, consolidating the prestige of this appellation. In recent years, Offida has gained more and more attention thanks to the quality of its wines and the enhancement of indigenous grape varieties, which represent a symbol of the enological heritage of the Marche region. Today, Offida DOCG is considered an example of Italian wine-making excellence.
