On the hills of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned winery with small accommodation business (up to 6 bedrooms). Vineyards are registered as Barolo DOCG (6.1613 ha), Barbera DOC (1.7562 ha), Dolcetto DOC (1.0750 ha) and Langhe Nebbiolo DOC (0,2238 ha).
The estate covers a total surface of roughly 11.0 hectares (27.2 acres), all in a single plot. The majority of the land is covered in vineyards (9.2 ha) while the remaining surface features small portions of arable land (0.4 ha), mixed woodland (0.3 ha) and unused land (1.1 ha).
The property features a modern wine cellar capable of producing up to 65,000 bottles of wine per year (all of excellent quality, as testified by the excellent marks they were awarded by the renowned magazine James Suckling), of the following types:
DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDINGS
The building (1,245 sqm – 13,396 sqft) is laid over four floors and includes the wine cellar, the agriturismo and an independent apartment for the keepers.
A canopy (180 sqm – 1,937 sqft) completes the property and is currently used to shelter vehicles and tools to work the fields.
The Barolo production area is the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. The territory, encompassing eleven municipalities and unchanged since its first establishment in 1966, is extremely varied in terms of composition (clayish, sandy-clayish and sandy) and this aspect clearly manifests itself with significant variations even in wines produced just a few kilometres from each other. The total surface covered in vineyards exceeds 2,100 hectares and allow wineries to produce approximately 14,000,000 bottles of wine per year.
The flagship towns of this production area, which is rather restricted compared to the others, are Barolo (hence the name), Grinzane Cavour (a tribute to Count Camillo Benso, proponent of the Italian Risorgimento), Serralunga d'Alba, Novello (hence a prestigious appellation for Barolo, Sottocastello di Novello) and La Morra.
The area's history dates back to the Roman Empire, but it wasn't until the 19th century that Barolo wines gained recognition. Winemaker Giulietta Falletti helped improve the wine's quality and in the early 20th century, Barolo even managed to recover from a widespread phylloxera epidemics. Today, small, family-owned wineries and larger producers make and export one of the finest wines of Italy, made exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape.
The winery is set just 4 km from a town providing all the necessary services, but other cities of Northern Italy are nonetheless reached in less than two hours (Bra, Barolo, Novello, Grinzane Cavour, Alba, Asti, Turin, Cuneo, Acqui Terme, Casale Monferrato, Genoa…). The most convenient airport is the one in Cuneo (37km; 40’) but the terminals of Turin, Genoa, Milan and Bergamo are equally convenient.
